Do you want to know what has been nibbling your plants? Join the RHS Garden Hyde Hall's Plant Health team and become familiar with a range of common organisms affecting garden plants, considering if they are 'pests and diseases'. Learn some diagnostic and identification skills and discover methods to approach garden problems in a sustainable way that is in harmony with the garden ecosystem. Explore the concept of biosecurity and some key steps to take in the garden. The workshop will comprise of a taught session, a garden walk and a chance to try some hands-on diagnostic techniques.

Tutor: RHS Plant Health Team

Arrival Information: 
  • Please arrive 15 mins before the start of the workshop to allow time to register your arrival and make your way to the classroom. 
  • This workshop will take place in the Clore Learning Centre, which is located at the top of the hill, adjacent to the Gardeners Rest Restaurant. 
For this workshop:
  • All materials and tools are supplied.
  • There will be tea/coffee available throughout.
  • You are welcome to bring along a packed lunch or the restaurant will be open from 10:00am to purchase food/refreshments. Please note that the restaurant can get busy during peak times, so when you arrive at the classroom, please ask a member of staff about pre-ordering.
  • You are welcome to stay in the gardens afterwards should you wish to have a wander round.
