Join RHS Garden Bridgewater Curator Marcus Chilton-Jones for an in-depth walk and talk all about winter top fruit pruning. This workshop is suitable for confident gardeners.

The focus of this workshop will be on pruning apples and pears in a wide variety of restricted and open forms.  This will include espaliers, palmettes, various cordons, standards, half-standards and open centre bushes. The workshop will provide an overview on how the application of scientific and artistic techniques can correctly sculpt apples and pears, on a cyclical basis, for a variety of different situations.

The tour will be approximately two hours in length and will be outside in the garden throughout with practical demonstrations in The Kitchen Garden and in The Orchard. Please wear sturdy footwear and waterproofs and bring a bottle of water with you.

Ticket price includes garden entry.

Tutor: Marcus Chilton-Jones (RHS)
