Willow Weaving Workshop: Plant Obelisks

Creative with Nature will lead you in this fun and practical weaving session, teaching you how to make your own sustainable and durable willow plant obelisk.

Using the best-quality English willow, you will learn basic basketry techniques to create a sturdy piece ideal for growing climbing plants, such as sweet peas. Create a permanent garden feature that will last for years to come and is completely plastic-free.

This RHS Garden Bridgewater workshop is suitable for beginners, but please be aware that you will need strong hand and arm dexterity to be able to work with willow.

Tutor: Joe Gregory, Creative with Nature Joe started weaving as a hobby in 2004 and now has almost 20 years of teaching experience. Joe has her own weaving studios and also teaches for the Workers Education Association and as a Forest School Leader.
Location and Arrival Information: The workshop will take place in the Learning Studios, situated within the Welcome Building.
Catering: Tea and coffee will be available on arrival.
For this workshop, you will need:All materials are provided. Please wear closed-toed shoes and practical clothing.
