Graphite pencils can be used to produce the most delicate and detailed illustrations and were widely used on the very earliest of botanical plates. This workshop will teach the techniques needed to draw a piece of work using just graphite pencils. You will be shown how to get the most out of the various types of graphite pencil, from hard to soft, and how to blend them beautifully to create a clear and precise piece of artwork. This workshop is suitable for all levels.

Please note: this workshop requires you to bring your own drawing equipment including a selection of graphite pencils, hot pressed paper and tracing paper (further information will be provided before the workshop).

Tutor: Janie Pirie
