Come along to one of the RHS Garden Bridgewater Home Education Workshops this December! Our free workshops offer hands-on sessions for home-educated children from 4 to 11 years. Through interactive learning, our workshops explore a range of topics from how plants grow, to where our food comes from and how plants can help us look after the planet.

Choose either:
- Signs of the Season Workshop for ages 4 to 8, 10am – 11:30am
Explore the wonder of the natural world through the changing of the seasons! Young children will experience the winter festive season through sensory, hands-on tour of the garden and woodland. They will discover the parts of plants and learn how plants and their growth are affected by seasonal changes. Children will then embark on a hunt of seasonal interest out in the garden before completing a seasonally themed craft activity.

Or

- Festive Plant Workshop for ages 7 to 11, 12noon – 1:30pm
An interactive workshop in which learners will be guided to ID a range of deciduous and evergreen trees. Learners will discover more about some plants associated with the festive season and complete a festive craft activity.

Dress for the weather! Our workshops will include time out in the garden. Learners and their accompanying adults are welcome to stay in the garden after their workshop. Please arrive 15 minutes before your booked workshop so all children are ready for the start time. All children must be accompanied by an adult in the garden and during the workshop (this is limited to one adult per child, per workshop). All children and adults need to have booked a ticket to attend RHS Garden Bridgewater on our Home Educator day.

Additional info

To help Learners get the most out of their experience, we have the following rules:
  • Attendees who are more than 10 minutes late to the session will not be admitted to the learning session or garden.
  • Workshops are tailored to children of a specific age range. Other children and siblings who do not fulfil the age requirement will not be allowed to take part.
  • Home educated children are entitled to take part in one pre-booked educational workshop per year to allow as many children as possible each calendar year to experience RHS Garden Bridgewater.
