    Growing flowers for cutting

An introduction to creating your own cut flower patch, this session will show you how to start growing seasonal home-grown blooms. Consider topics such as planning, timings, layout and design, exploring which equipment and materials you might want to use. Then learn about the correct soil preparation, seed sowing, growing, care and maintenance techniques to ensure your cut flower patch performs well.

Miriam and Melissa have been growing and cutting the flowers enjoyed in the RHS Rosemoor Restaurant throughout the year. They will share growing tips, demonstrate how to harvest your booms and offer ideas and inspiration for displaying your blooms.

By the end of the session, you should feel confident to plan your cut flower patch for next summer, and to grow a cut flower selection to give you flowers to take indoors through the season.

Please bring with you:
  • Your booking reference number
  • A notebook and pencil to make notes
  • Camera or mobile phone for photos if you wish
Please wear clothing and shoes suitable for the weather on the day.
