Chelsea gold medal-winning garden designer Tracy Foster has been creating gardens since 2002.  Tracy also works as a botanical tour guide, writes articles, mentors other garden designers, runs garden design workshops, and lectures on board cruise ships.

This introduction to the wonderful world of garden design will give you a flavour of what can be achieved through design techniques, illustrated with plenty of real-life examples. Tracy will show you how to assess your plot and will explain the steps involved in finding inspiration and ideas, and turn those into a design drawing.

The day will also introduce planting design and cover choosing plants suitable for your garden to provide a long season of interest, combining plants, and drawing a planting plan that is easy to follow.

The tutor advises that you bring a notebook, a pen and a pencil. An eraser and a ruler will also be useful if you have them.
