Following on from our Introduction to Allotment course you will investigate further into Allotments with more seasonal, sowing, and look more closely into soil preparation for the winter period ahead along with the selection of suitable green manures like phacelia, mustard, and clover.

Autumn and winter maintenance jobs like the selection of glasshouses, cold frames and growing units, light and heaters and ventilation will be covered. The selection of fruit and vegetables for storage and the needs and requirements to do this successfully. Suitable winter crops like kale and broccoli will also be discussed. The storage and selection of seed will also be covered along with planning the allotment for the following year. We will also look at seasonal pests and diseases covering their control and prevention
