Short on space but large in ambition? Want to grow your own fruit and veg crops but are lacking ground space? Then this beginner workshop, delivered by the Bridgewater Gardening Advice Team, Andy & Clare, is for you.

Learn the art of growing crops in pots and overcome any space constraints you might have.

Planting crops in containers is an effective and versatile way of creating an edible garden where space is tight. Many fruit and veg varieties grow well in containers, from beetroot, broad beans and carrots, to peas, salad leaves and tomatoes. Pots, troughs, bathtubs, barrels, sacks, or grow bags can all be used to cultivate edible crops with great success.

In this workshop, you’ll discover more about planting, cultivating and harvesting container crops and will take part in a fun hands-on planting session of a crop to take home. You will also identify crops that perform best in containers and why, and learn the skills and knowledge required to keep your container crops healthy and plentiful, meaning you’ll enjoy homegrown fruit and veg for years to come.
