Willow Weaving
This fun willow weaving workshop led by Joe Gregory of Creative with Nature, is a great way to unwind by getting hands-on with a natural material while developing a new skill. This workshop is suitable for guests who want to enjoy, discover or learn from this workshop, whatever their existing skill level. No prior experience needed but you must have good mobility in hands & feet & be able to stand whilst working. You’ll work with the best quality English willow and learn some of the basics of willow basket weaving techniques as you create a beautiful small willow foraging bag, with an adjustable hemp strap that has a number of uses and will last for years to come.
Ideal for foraging mushrooms, herbs and berries this handsome basket is also very functional and has many uses. Tutor: Joe Gregory, Creative with Nature Joe started weaving as a hobby in 2004 and now has almost 20 years teaching experience. Joe has her own weaving studios and also teaches for the Workers Education Association and as a Forest School Leader. Location and Arrival Information: The workshop will take place in the Learning Studios, situated within the Welcome Building Catering: Tea & coffee will be available on arrival For this workshop you will need: All materials are provided. Please wear closed toe shoes and practical clothing. Skill Level: Beginner - I am keen to learn and to develop my experience and confidence - however a degree of manual dexterity is required and the ability to stand whilst working.
