We have combined these two powerful search tools into a single Find a Plant service searching over 250,000 plant records.
Virtually all of the features of the old searches are still available and in addition we have added several new features to create a more comprehensive and user friendly search experience.

RHS Garden Wisley has had a good collection of heathers since the 1920s, but it was given National Plant Collection status in 1987. This collection now exceeds 1,000 accessions, representing 25 species and subspecific taxa, and more than 1,000 cultivars. As well as Erica and Calluna, there are representative specimens of Daboecia and Bruckenthalia. Each year new cultivars are added, many from Germany, the Netherlands and the USA. Links are maintained with many other institutions and nurseries, with regular exchanges of material of mutual benefit. Favourable growing conditions have helped the collection to flourish. The collection, which occupies much of Howard's Field, beyond the Pinetum at Wisley, provides a fine spectacle for visitors each year. Strong links are maintained with the Heather Society and other institutions. The entire collection is catalogued in the RHS Horticultural Database, and steady progress is being made in creating herbarium and photographic records of the collection.
