It is included in an evolving list of plants carefully researched and chosen by RHS experts. Divided into 3 groups these lists, linked below, are maintained by a team of RHS staff and are reviewed annually.
'Scarlet Tempest' produces a basal clump of mid green leaves and large, double, apricot-flushed scarlet red flowers held above on sturdy stems. The first flush of flowers appear in mid spring and then over a long period from summer to autumn
'Cooky' is clump-forming, softly-hairy perennial with lobed, basal leaves to 20cm long. The bright orange flowers, up to 4cm across, are produced from late spring to summer. Height about 45cm
'Leonard's Variety' is a compact, clump-forming perennial to 45cm tall, with lobed basal leaves and reddish-brown stems bearing several nodding, bell-shaped, semi-double, coppery-pink flowers 3-4cm wide in late spring and summer
'Karlskaer' is a clump-forming, herbaceous perennial, to 35cm, with basal rosettes of lobed leaves. The tangerine-orange, semi-double flowers are produced on dark red stems from late spring to mid-summer
'Georgenberg' is a clump-forming, herbaceous perennial, to 25cm, with basal rosettes of lobed leaves. The orange-yellow, single flowers, up to 4cm across, are produced from late spring to mid-summer
'Prinses Juliana' is a clump-forming, herbaceous perennial with lobed basal leaves and vivid orange, semi-double flowers on tall stems produced in early and midsummer
'Blazing Sunset' is a clump-forming, herbaceous perennial, to 60cm, with basal rosettes of lobed leaves. The double red flowers, up to 6cm across, are produced from late spring to late summer
G. coccineum is a clump-forming perennial, to 45cm tall and wide, with leaves up to 20cm long and divided into 5 or 7 toothed or lobed leaflets. Scarlet, saucer-shaped flowers, up to 4cm across, are borne on upright stems in groups of two or four from late spring into summer
'Lady Stratheden' is an herbaceous perennial making a clump to 60cm in height, with hairy, dark green, pinnate basal leaves and purple stems bearing semi-double, rich yellow flowers 4.5cm in width
'Beech House Apricot' is a clump-forming, herbaceous perennial, to 20cm, with basal rosettes of lobed leaves. The semi-double flowers are soft yellow splashed with apricot, carried on dark red stems from late spring to mid-summer
