Business Services

Keep us safe, keep us sustainable, and contribute to the essential behind-the-scenes operations that allow us to achieve our mission

Ensuring we thrive

Our Business Services teams are at the heart of the RHS, doing essential work that enables us to achieve our mission. No matter which of our teams you join, you’ll contribute to the vital job of keeping the RHS moving forward.

In these teams, you’ll be helping to keep the organisation running smoothly and allowing us to bring the joy of gardening to more people every day as part of our mission to keep everyone at the RHS alive with possibility.

Our Business Services teams

Estates

Our two Estates teams make sure all our gardens and properties function effectively. Estates South covers RHS Wisley, RHS Hyde Hall, RHS Rosemoor, and Estates North looks after RHS Bridgewater and RHS Harlow Carr. Join us and you’ll work on a variety of projects, from construction and engineering to environmental and service infrastructure. Working with many other RHS departments, you’ll help to make sure our gardens and properties are fit for purpose. If you’re someone who likes to learn and have new experiences, this is the team for you.

Finance

If your strengths lie in problem solving, strategic decision making, and future planning, then you’ll feel at home in the Finance team? A place with fresh challenges and opportunities every day, you’ll help us get a full picture of our various revenue streams, expenditure, and performance. Collaborating with teams across the RHS, you’ll help allocate resources, deal with payroll, support and optimise a variety of commercial and community outreach projects. Whatever your role, you’ll be supporting our business, bringing teams together and improving how we function as an organisation.

Health and Safety

We protect the health and wellbeing of all employees, visitors, and volunteers. Although we may be a small team, we impact every RHS site and show. Join the Health and Safety team and you’ll have a rewarding role, engaging with and protecting our community. You’ll work with, and learn about, every part of our organisation, as well as the evolving legal landscape that we work in. On top of this, you’ll also have a hand in developing more advanced safety systems and keeping pace with new and emerging risks.

Legal

Join the Legal team, and you could have a hand in anything from advice and contracts, to trademarks and data protection. Working closely with every part of our organisation, you’ll help to make sure everyone’s adhering to our legal requirements. At the same time, you’ll be managing potential risks and opportunities. You’ll drive initiatives to improve our contracting processes, so we can put more time and effort into our environment and community.

People / HR

In the People team, you’ll be advising, guiding and supporting our 1,200 employees and 2,000 volunteers. That means putting people at the heart of everything you do and helping them be their best selves at work. Depending on your role in the team, you’ll either be cultivating a diverse and inclusive culture through our People, Learning, Development and Diversity, Inclusion and Wellbeing initiatives or setting the direction for volunteering. Our team prides itself on being open and approachable ensuring everyone has a voice.

Sustainability

From sustainable travel to environmental horticulture and even plant health, we work on a huge range of projects. Join the Sustainability team and you could be working with teams across our sites and shows. Not to mention supporting 30 million gardeners across the UK. Sustainability plays a vital role in our aim to be there for everyone’s lifelong gardening adventure. You’ll help to ensure we put sustainability at the core of everything we do, from operations and decision making, to the horticultural supply chain and actions that individual gardeners can take to make a positive impact.
