RHS Flourish Fund

During the past two years, the fund has distributed more than £300,000 to help connect a wider range of people with horticulture

Future funding support

From 2023, RHS support for diversity in horticulture will now be through our New Shoots programme. It will build on the initiatives of the Flourish Fund and provide work experience opportunities within RHS Gardens, as well as assisting more broadly with horticultural careers promotion. This new project will begin at RHS Garden Wisley and RHS Garden Bridgewater in 2023.

Supporting organisations

We want to inspire everyone to grow, and the RHS Flourish Fund was part of our pledge to attract and support a more diverse range of people to work in horticulture. With a commitment of £150,000, consisting of grants up to £15,000 per year, the Fund aimed to support organisations across the UK that help individuals to enter a career within the professional horticultural industry.

Beneficiaries of the 2021/22 fund

Following a number of applications in 2021 and 2022, the selection committee was delighted to deliver the fund to some worthy recipients. The successful organisations will use the funding awarded to grow their training and development offerings, benefitting more people and helping to pave the way for a career in horticulture.

A more sustainable industry

We strive to promote diversity and inclusion in our industry and to support grassroots horticulture. Only by being inclusive and welcoming people from all parts of our society will our industry become more sustainable. The Flourish Fund was a part of helping us to realise that vision, and now our New Shoots initiative will continue this into the future.
