Creative Ground

Transforming how young people connect with plants, growing, art and the important questions shaping our world today

Creative Ground is a new, free, pre-booked learning experience for schools, created in partnership between the RHS and Tate Britain. Set across the Clore Garden Classroom, Clore Garden and Tate Britain gallery spaces, Creative Ground invites young people to discover the connections between horticulture, nature and creativity. Through hands-on gardening, close observation and creative making, learners will engage with plants, gardens and art in new and meaningful ways.

Growing creativity together

Every learner will take part in practical gardening activities that encourage them to investigate the living world first-hand, developing skills and confidence. Alongside this, learners will explore the joy, inspiration and sense of connection that gardens and art can foster. Through creative making, discussion and reflection, learners will consider how they observe, connect and draw inspiration from the natural world. By bringing together horticulture and art, Creative Ground encourages young people to see themselves as active participants in shaping a more positive future.
