Price drop for children’s tickets at RHS Gardens

Children can visit the RHS Gardens for only £5 or less as ticket prices lowered in time for February half term

With February half term just around the corner, we’re reducing prices for children to visit the five RHS Gardens. From 11 February 2025, children’s ticket prices will drop to just £5 for children aged 5 to 16, and children aged under 5 will continue to visit our gardens for free.

We’re also discounting prices, from 11 February, for adults who book their tickets online in advance, with the lowest rates available on quieter weekdays and off-peak times of year – so book ahead to get the best value tickets and save up to 25%. Discounted online bookings open from 11 February 2025.

With new lower prices for children throughout the year, we want to help families make their money go further and encourage children to get outdoors, learn more about plants and gardening, and feel the benefits of spending time in nature.

From exploring our gardens and woodland to discovering amazing plants from across the world, spotting wildlife and jumping, swinging and climbing through our adventure play areas, as well as a packed programme of activities during the school holidays, there is so much for families to discover at our five RHS Gardens.

Guess How Much I Love You garden trail

Starting on 15 February during half term week, and continuing all year, a wonderful new garden trail based on the much-loved children’s book by Sam McBratney and Anita Jeram, Guess How Much I Love You™, is coming to the RHS Gardens.

Bounce, hop and stretch your way around the trail following the adorable characters Little Nutbrown Hare and Big Nutbrown Hare. And for February half term week (15 – 23 February) enjoy interactive storytelling, creative crafts and planting workshops inspired by the characters and stories.

Days out with kids at RHS Gardens

There’s plenty to keep children busy at the RHS Gardens all through the year. All of our gardens have adventure play areas with features designed to encourage active and imaginative play.

As you explore the gardens, spot wildlife in our woodlands, lakes and ponds, and head to the bird hides at RHS Wisley, Hyde Hall and Harlow Carr to spy on some feathered friends. Can you find some of the homes we’ve built for wildlife to live in?

Look out for sculptures along the way, from the giant horses head at RHS Wisley to the wonderful ‘Bridgewater Ent’ sculpture made from wood gathered in the woodland. Discover an incredible range of fruit and vegetables growing in our edible gardens and orchards and get kids inspired to grow their own food.

You can also have a go at den building at RHS Rosemoor and RHS Bridgewater, listen to storytime at RHS Wisley and RHS Harlow Carr, join Little Acorns gardening and craft club at RHS Hyde Hall, and go on welly walks at RHS Rosemoor.

With hard-surfaced pathways around most areas, our gardens make perfect settings for a buggy walk as little ones nap or gaze up towards the tree canopy. Cushion-like lawns are a great place for toddlers to practise taking their early steps.

On rainy days, head to the children’s sections of our Garden Centres – each RHS Garden has its own Garden Centre, which is free to enter – and browse a fantastic range of children’s books, toys and gardening goodies. There’s a wonderful array of plants and seeds to inspire children to start growing.

Stop off at one of our restaurants or cafés where we have menus and meal deals for children. We also have picnic tables and plenty of benches at all of our gardens and you’re welcome to bring your own food for a picnic.
