Daffodils at the RHS Gardens

Beside the lake, beneath the trees, fluttering and dancing in the breeze... Enjoy the spectacle of thousands of daffodils in bloom each spring across the five RHS Gardens

RHS Garden Rosemoor

Devon

Marking the start of spring at RHS Rosemoor, a mass of glorious daffodils spill from pots, flow through borders and dance in the meadow areas. Large drifts of the UK native daffodil Narcissus pseudonarcissus sit on the banks of the Stream Garden, while Lady Anne’s Arboretum is a sea of golden yellow from the distinctive blooms of the hoop petticoat daffodil, N. bulbocodium and the native Welsh daffodil, N. obvallaris.

In recent years, the garden team have planted thousands of additional daffodil bulbs, including 2,000 of our namesake Narcissus ‘Rosemoor Gold’ in Lady Anne’s Garden. Other daffodil hotspots include the Lake and Winter Garden. Enjoy our Spring Flower Showcase, including the RHS Daffodil Competition, on 14 – 15 March 2026.

Essex

Enjoy joyful drifts of daffodils blooming throughout RHS Hyde Hall. One of the best places to appreciate them is around the Lower Pond, where there are large groups of cyclamineus daffodils, including Narcissus ‘Rapture’ and ‘Peeping Tom’, known for their delightful dainty flowers with swept back petals and pronounced trumpets.

Elsewhere, daffodils smother the bulb bank of the Queen Mother’s Garden and are the stars of spring in the Hilltop Garden, Robinson Garden and Floral Fantasia display. Don’t miss the Daffodil Show on 24 – 25 March 2026 and be wowed by hundreds of beautiful cut blooms.

Greater Manchester

A wave of colour spreads across the garden in spring courtesy of tens of thousands of bulbs planted over the last few years. In the Orchard, drifts of more than 50,000 daffodils create a floral spectacle.
