Gold accolade for Harlow Carr

We're celebrating after winning a prestigious Gold award from VisitEngland

Staff with the VisitEngland Gold awardRHS Garden Harlow Carr is one of only two visitor attractions in Yorkshire to be awarded a prestigious Gold accolade by VisitEngland as part of its Visitor Attraction Quality Scheme. The accolade is based on a ‘mystery shopper’ assessment, taking into account all aspects of a customer’s experience, from pre-visit information on the website to signage, cleanliness and knowledge of staff.

Gold is the highest level that can be awarded under the scheme and means the garden achieved an overall score of at least 87% and a minimum score of 80% in every category. Harlow Carr is the first RHS garden to be awarded the accolade. Yorkshire Wildlife Park in Doncaster is the other Yorkshire attraction to be awarded a Gold.

Liz Thwaite, Head of Site said: 'We’re thrilled to be awarded a Gold, particularly as it looks at how well we’re doing through the eyes of a customer. We work hard to constantly improve visitors’ experience and encourage feedback from customers - both good and bad so we can constantly improve and develop the garden.'

'The accolade is testament to the hard work of everyone involved in making Harlow Carr such a well-loved attraction.'
