Join the Harrogate & Ripon Beekeepers Association and our wild bee expert and discover live bee demonstrations, activities and lots of information on bees and beekeeping.
 
Our Garden Wild Bee expert, environmental educationist, researcher and inventor George Pilkington, as he helps us to understand how we can preserve, observe and encourage bees in our gardens. 
 
After years of painstaking wild bee observations and experimentations,  George created the award winning Nurturing Nature Bumblebee Nest Box and Solitary Bee Nest Box. In light of the dramatic decline in the wild bee populations, George has concentrated on researching the behavior of garden bumblebees and garden solitary bees, to gain insights into how populations could be increased. He is the author of two popular books and is a keen, enthusiastic and practicing organic and wildlife gardener. You can also pick up the RHS Wild about Bees action pack. 
 
George will be on hand 11 – 4 demonstrating his products, offering advice and will deliver two specialist talks at 1pm & 3pm
 
We will also be showing you how to sign up to the Friends of the Earth Great British Bee Count. It’s going to bee a hive of activity!
