This course is a gateway into creative techniques for photographing trees, but the ideas can be applied to most other photographic subjects. There will be two short classroom sessions with outdoor practicals in the beautiful gardens of RHS Garden Hyde Hall.

A basic understanding of photography is useful, however most of the techniques can be adapted to different camera systems from DSLR, Mirrorless, Bridge and Compact System Cameras. Marion Sidebottom will cover both the technical and creative sides of photography and will adjust the teaching depending on the level of experience of participants.

Subjects covered include viewpoint & composition; using natural light, time of day & weather conditions to best effect; focal length/lenses – wide angle, telephoto, macro; creative use of aperture; and ow to get sharper images.

Tutor: Marion Sidebottom
