Join us at RHS Garden Hyde Hall for this delightful workshop where you'll get hands-on crafting a charming, eight-pointed, Swedish willow star. Led by a talented local willow weaver, learn how to create a classic Christmas decoration that exudes timeless elegance and rustic charm.

Following completion of your workshop, you may wish to further embellish your star at home with winter foliage, ribbons, and twinkling fairy lights. Whether you choose to display your creation indoors or out, it’s sure to bring a touch of festive magic.

This workshop is perfect for both beginners and those already familiar with working with willow, promising an enjoyable experience for all.

Tutor: Deb Hart has been running willow and basket weaving workshops all over the UK, and in Canada for the last 20 years. She is a keen wildlife gardener, which lends itself to willow weaving and keeping things around us as natural as possible, without creating an unnecessary impact on our environment.

Arrival Information:
  • Please arrive 15 mins before the start of the workshop to allow time to register your arrival and make your way to the classroom.
  • This workshop will take place in the Clore Learning Centre, which is located at the top of the hill, adjacent to the Gardeners Rest Restaurant. There is a mobility vehicle available to transport participants to the top of the hill if necessary.

For this Workshop:
  • All tools and materials will be supplied.
  • There will be tea/coffee available throughout. We also suggest the use of a reusable water bottle.
  • You are welcome to stay in the gardens afterwards should you wish to stop for lunch and a wander round
