RHS Partner Gardens carer policy

Policy setting out the admission requirements for ensuring fair and accessible entry for RHS Members who require a carer

1. RHS Membership benefit
Free entry to RHS Partner Gardens is a core benefit of RHS Membership. RHS Partner Gardens play an important role in supporting this offer by participating in the Scheme.
2. Commitment to equality
The RHS is committed to ensuring equal access to membership benefits for all members. RHS Members who require the support of a carer should not be placed at a financial disadvantage. Under the Equality Act 2010, organisations have a duty to avoid discrimination and to make reasonable adjustments for disabled people.
3. Carer admission requirement
RHS Partner Gardens must waive the admission charge for one essential carer accompanying a visitor whose disability necessitates their support. This requirement aligns with the admission policy applied in RHS Gardens.
4. Recognition of non-visible disabilities
Some visitors may have disabilities that are not immediately visible. These visitors may still require essential support from a carer and should be treated in line with this policy.
