Did you know we’re a charity? Our work to enrich everyone’s life through plants is only made possible through the support of our members. This important, varied work is making a positive impact on the environment and people’s health and happiness.
Plants can do extraordinary things, for example helping to mitigate the effects of climate change. We are committed to supporting Britain’s 27 million gardeners and our scientific research aims to help tackle some of the biggest environmental challenges facing us all today, from extreme weather conditions to pests and diseases. Find out how you can help too. We all have an innate connection with nature, and are happier in green spaces. It’s now proven that being in a garden or gardening helps improve mental and physical wellbeing, which was the focus of the RHS Back to Nature Garden, co-designed by HRH The Duchess of Cambridge for the RHS Chelsea Flower Show. Some of the planting from the garden will go to an NHS Mental Health Trust to benefit patients and staff. Inspiring the next generation of gardeners and horticultural scientists is vital in our work to promote the value of plants, nature and health and wellbeing to young people. There are more than 38,000 schools and youth groups involved in our Campaign for School Gardening and our inspiring Green Plan It for secondary schools. Find out how schools can sign up.
