Sarah Jane Humphrey is an award winning botanical artist, teacher and writer, who was awarded an RHS Gold Medal at the 2018 RHS Botanical Art Show, and has a newly released book, ‘Botanical Art with Scientific Illustration’ which is a complete guide for the beginner to the advanced artist.

She will guide you through the techniques of gouache painting, giving you ease and confidence, while exploring the rich diversity of late summer plants. The joy of using gouache allows the artist to delve into the depths of contrast, with a fabulous vibrancy, which is often to be found at this time of year when plants mature and enter the autumnal season. During the workshop Sarah Jane will give individual tuition and group demonstrations with enthusiasm and curiosity, to take your inspiration beyond the classroom.
