Join us for our second Wool & Yarn Fest at RHS Garden Rosemoor. Once again we aim to celebrate the multitude of ways that wool and yarn can be used in our daily lives, from creative use to practical use.

We are looking to inspire our visitors to become involved in learning new skills and to take home wonderful gifts from the amazing array of exhibitors who will be joining us in the Garden Room, Learning Centre and Lecture Hall.

There will be wonderful woolly animals to meet and also the return of the fantastic Yarn Bombing Trail, which this year will be based on the novel The Secret Garden by Frances Hodgson Burnett down by the Learning Centre.

We will be running the following Workshops:

Saturday 28 March 2020:
  • 10.15am – 2D Needle felting a landscape: Joan Prowse
  • 11.30am – Arm Knitting a Cowl: Cats Creation
  • 12.45pm – Peg Loom Weaving: Caslana
  • 2pm – Wet Felting a 3D Bowl: FELT by FI
  • 3.15pm – Nuno Felting a Scarf: Creative South West

There will be free drop-in talks in the Cob Shelter on both days:
  • 11am – The History & Mythology of felt making by Maggie Harbour
  • 12noon – Demonstration on Solar Dye Pot for Natural dye Stuff by Caroline Bawn
  • 1pm – Comparisons of Alpaca Yarn to other Yarn by Sampford Alpacas
  • 2pm – Felt: what it is and its uses by Maggie Harbour
There will also be plenty of demonstrations on spinning, weaving, knitting and felting by our fantastically talented stallholders in the Lecture Hall, Garden Room and Learning Centre.
