Enjoy the use of monoprint and mark making to explore the many patterns and textures that flowers offer and that can be created with them.

Tutor Wendy Greaves will guide you through the process of monoprinting to create floral fabrics inspired by RHS Rosemoor.

You may wish to use the fabric for your own embroidery projects, or alternatively you might like to join Wendy’s afternoon workshop using free motion embroidery to create flowers and natural forms.

Tutor: Wendy Greaves has spent 31 years immersed in fine art textiles as an artist and educator. She achieved a BA (hons) in Constructed textiles, PGCE, and is a Member of the Society of Designer Craftsmen. Throughout her career, Wendy has balanced teaching with practice, firmly believing that an art educator must also experience the vulnerability and excitement of making. In 2022, Wendy reached a turning point in her creative journey – broadening her artistic horizons and pushing the boundaries of her practice.

Rooted in the dramatic and fragile landscapes of North Devon, Wendy’s work explores their textures, moods, and quiet rhythms through the language of cloth and stitch. She works with recycled, found, and locally sourced materials, selecting fabrics for their honesty, texture, and connection to place.

Location and arrival information: The workshop will take place in the Peter Buckley Learning Centre. Please allow 15 minutes to park in the main visitor car park, enter the garden and get to the Learning Centre.
