See artist Hannah Oram capture Rosemoor’s changing seasons, and be inspired to paint or draw in the garden too.

Devon-based contemporary artist Hannah Oram creates vibrant acrylic paintings celebrating the colour, energy and beauty found in everyday life.

A lifelong lover of gardens and the outdoors, Hannah is particularly inspired by the abundance of the natural world – from flowers in bloom to the shapes, colours and textures of fruit, vegetables and foliage. Her paintings invite us to pause, look more closely and notice the moments of joy that nature can bring.

Working intuitively in acrylic, Hannah builds her paintings through layers of expressive colour, shape and mark-making. Rather than simply recording what she sees, she aims to capture a moment's atmosphere and energy. She describes her work as “painting the poetry of life’s special moments”.

From 22 September 2026 until the end of February 2027, Hannah will be Artist in Residence at RHS Garden Rosemoor, responding to the garden and its changing seasons through painting. From autumn colour and abundant fruit and vegetables to winter planting, woodland and the first signs of spring, Rosemoor will provide an ever-changing source of inspiration.

Come and paint at Rosemoor

Hannah will usually be painting somewhere in the garden on Tuesdays, 10.30am–2.30pm (excluding school holidays). Look out for her as you explore, stop for a chat and see how her paintings develop.

You can have a go too. Bring your own sketchbook and materials, find a favourite view and spend some time drawing or painting in the garden. You don’t need to be an experienced artist – the invitation is to slow down, look closely and enjoy being creative in nature.

Hannah’s paintings will also be on display in the Exhibition Room, with new Rosemoor-inspired works appearing as her residency develops.

Exhibited artworks will be for sale.
