Volunteer at an RHS Flower Show

Our world famous flower shows take place each summer and our army of wonderful volunteers are the face of the RHS for our visitors.

Knowledgeable and enthusiastic volunteers help us to ensure our visitors have a great day out, perhaps returning to the show the following year or even becoming an RHS member or visiting one of our gardens.

Further information about volunteering at our 2025 Shows will be available in December. For year-round opportunities, you may consider volunteering at an RHS Garden.

You could help with...

Welcoming visitors

You'll be the first point of contact for visitors arriving at our shows. Your friendly welcome will be the first impression they have of the RHS.

Our visitors might have questions that need answering or pehaps they'll need specific directions. Your knowledge of the show will help them to make the most of their day.

Working in our retail outlets

The RHS is known for its fantastic retail products. For many visitors, the opportunity to buy a few gifts or souvenirs is an important part of their day.

In this varied role, you'll provide a high quality service to our visitors, keep stock levels topped up or perhaps even help a celebrity with a purchase!

Recruiting new RHS members

As a charity, the RHS exists to inspire passion and excellence in the science, art and practice of horticulture. We rely on our members to support our charitable activities and help us make the UK a more green and beautiful place.

You'll proactively approach our show visitors to explain the benefits of RHS membership and how important it is to our charitable work. You'll share your knowledge of plants to encourage visitors to join by direct debit and gift aid their membership.

Offering advice and directions

Many of our visitors are keen to see displays of certain plants or perhaps purchase them where they're available. You'll be the first point of contact, providing a friendly and helpful face in the floral marquee, helping visitors to navigate their way around.

You'll help visitors to locate specific plants or exhibits and you might also need to direct visitors to other areas for specialist advice.
