Fruit Edible Shrubs

A compact, floriferous, deciduous shrub to around 100cm in height, with glossy, mid-green leaves. Clusters of small, bright orange-red flowers appear early in the season on bare branches from late January through to early March, followed by large, yellow, apple-shaped aromatic fruit. These can be used to make jams and jellies, but please see notes on toxicity for further advice
