A clump-forming rhizomatous perennial to around 40cm high, with basal rosettes of lobed and toothed leaves. Single, deep orange flowers with prominent yellow stamens are held on stems well above the foliage from early to midsummer

Cultivation

Grow in fertile, moist but well-drained soil in full sun or light shade. Avoid areas that are waterlogged over winter. Divide every three years or so to maintain vigour
