A medium-sized, round to flattened dessert apple, green to yellowish in colour overlaid with a maroon-red flush and darker stripes. The flesh is coarse-grained, often stained pink and has a moderately sweet to sharp flavour; fruits will store for up to two months. This apple cultivar does well in moist climates and has shown to be very resistant to apple scab

Cultivation

Prefers deep, fertile, moist but well-drained, neutral soil in a sunny sheltered position. Will not thrive on very acid soils, shallow chalk soils or with shade for more than half the day. May require fruit thinning to improve fruit size and quality. See apple cultivation
