Large, deciduous shrub, to 8m tall, with ovate leaves, green and bronze when young maturing to mid-green in the summer. Large, scented, very double flowers open in spring before the leaves and are white to very pale pink, approximately 12cm in diameter and made up of around 50 tepals

How to Grow

Cultivation

Grow in moist but well-drained neutral to acid soil in full sun or part shade with shelter from cold winds. Late frosts may damage flower buds. Will grow in moist alkaline soils. Further magnolia cultivation advice
