A spreading, deciduous tree to 5m in height with ovate mid-green leaves. White tulip shaped flowers, with a deep pink blush towards the base, appear in mid-spring on bare stems, and are fragrant. Cylinder shaped red fruits are freely born in autumn. The flowers are very resilient to frost.
