A robust, slow-growing, spreading, clump-forming rhizomatous perennial to around 30cm in height, with basal rosettes of lobed and toothed green leaves. Dark red buds open to small, salmon-pink bell-shaped nodding flowers from April through to the end of June. Will spread freely in full sun to partial shade in damper areas of the garden
