Japanese maple
A deciduous, upright tree or shrub with a rounded crown to approximately 10m tall. Leaves are 5-10cm long and have 5-7 lobes divided up to two-thirds to the base with finely toothed margins. Leaf colour may take on rich autumnal hues before falling. Small flowers in spring are followed by winged seeds 3-5cm long

How to grow
Cultivation
Grow in a moist but well-drained soil. Water in summer if necessary. Leaf colour is best in partial shade, although full sun can be tolerated. Leaf scorch can be caused by lack of soil moisture or excessive exposure
