Large, deciduous shrub or spreading, small tree about 6-8m tall, with dark green leaves, downy beneath to 15cm long. Strongly scented, cup-shaped flowers appear in late spring and early into midsummer, with 12 pink-tipped white petals and a large boss of deep red stamens in the centre. Ornamental fruits turn crimson-pink in autumn

How to Grow

Cultivation

Propagate by softwood cuttings from late spring to early summer or semi-ripe cuttings from late summer to autumn
