Clump-forming perennial, to 90cm tall, with lance-shaped alternating mid-green leaves. Terminal clusters of funnel-shaped flowers, in shades of mauve and deep purple with a yellow flare on the inner petals and dark-brown streaks on the upper petals, are produced in summer through into autumn
