An erect, woody-based, half-hardy, deciduous perennial, producing stems to 1.2m (4ft) high and a spread of 50cm (20in), with deeply divided, aromatic leaves, dark-green above and greyish-green on the reverse. In late summer and autumn, fully double flowers are produced with incurving petals pink on the upper sides and pale pink on the undersides, creating a two-tone effect. Flowers are long lasting in water and are ideal for growing for cutting. Plants are best lifted after flowering or grown in containers and moved into cold, but frost free conditions over winter.
