A spreading, deciduous thorny shrub about 2m in height and spread, with dark green, rounded, glossy leaves. Clusters of single, mid-pink, cup-shaped flowers are produced in spring on bare branches, followed, in autumn, by aromatic green-yellow fruits. These can be used to make jams and jellies but please see notes on toxicity for further advice
