A spreading, deciduous shrub aout 75-90cm in height, with thorny stems and small, rounded, mid-green, glossy leaves. Clusters of single, creamy lemon-white flowers are produced in spring on bare branches, followed, in autumn, by yellow fruits. These can be used to make jams and jellies but please see notes on toxicity for further advice
