A low-growing, clump-forming rhizomatous perennial to around 40cm high, with basal rosettes of lobed and toothed green leaves. Large, single, buttercup-yellow flowers are held on stems above the foliage from late April to early June

Cultivation

Grow in fertile, moist but well-drained soil in sun or partial shade. Avoid areas that are waterlogged over winter. Divide every three years or so to maintain vigour
