A deciduous climber to about 2m flowering in early to mid-summer on old wood, and again in late summer to early autumn on new wood. The single or semi-double, very pale pink flowers are up to 18cm across and may have pale green central bars or a darker pink flush to the petal edges

How to Grow

Cultivation

Plant in a moisture-retentive, well-drained soil, with the roots and base of the plant kept cool and shaded by other plants or a layer of pebbles at the base. Plant with the crown 5-8cm deep to encourage new shoots to grow from below ground level. Can be grown in containers at least 45cm (18in) deep and wide in a peat-free, loam-based potting compost. Propagate by double leaf-bud, semi-ripe cuttings taken from spring to late summer, or by layering from late winter to spring
