A deciduous shrub to 1.4m high with broadly oval, serrated green leaves. Dome-shaped clusters of densely-packed flowers are produced on sturdy stems from mid summer into autumn. Flower colours vary from vivid raspberry pink to deep purple, depending on the pH of the soil, and colours are maintained until late in the season
