A low-growing perennial that forms neat, compact mounds of small, green, toothed, lance-shaped foliage. One of the earliest cultivars to flower, it has numerous, outward facing, vivid violet-blue, bell-shaped single flowers which appear on short stalks, sitting just above its foliage, providing a long flowering display in summer. An easy to grow plant but dislikes wet winters
