A small deciduous tree or large shrub with an informal, layered habit to around 6m in height, with glossy dark green leaves, flushed with purple in summer. Masses of pale pink flat blooms of petal-like bracts appear in May and June. This variety came from a well-established plant in Lady Ann's garden at Rosemoor
