Shrubs
A compact deciduous shrub to 1m high, with ovate, serrated green leaves that are tinted with purple and bronze, and turn bright red and orange in autumn. In summer, loose lace-cap type flower heads open to clusters of tiny fertile flowers, with larger florets held on short, delicate stems around the edges. Flower colour varies depending on the pH of the soil, from rose pink to pale lilac
