A slowly spreading, mound or mat-forming evergreen perennial to about 10cm high, with small, hairy, mid-green to grey-green leaves. Pale lavender-purple, four-petalled flowers, that fade to almost white towards their centres, are produced in short spikes from mid-spring to early summer
