A bushy deciduous shrub, to around 1m high, with an upright habit, sturdy, reddish stems and narrowly oval-shaped, deep green leaves with finely serrated edges. Large, loosely conical clusters of pale green flowers are produced from mid to late summer, developing white edges to the petals and tints of deep pink as they age. Leaves turn red and orange before dropping in autumn

How to Grow

Cultivation

Grow in any moist but well-drained soil in partial shade or grow in sun if soil remains reliably moist. Improve chalky soils with organic matter to support good growth. See shrubby hydrangea cultivation for further advice. This plant was included in the RHS Hydrangea (paniculata) trial 2021-2025
