A compact, bushy evergreen shrub to around 60cm high, with a rounded habit, upright stems and small, grey-green leaves that are strongly flushed reddish-purple when young, and in cold weather. Spikes of pale purple flowers are produced in summer, though this cultivar is not free-flowering and is primarily grown for its foliage
