A medium to large-sized, epiphytic orchid with upright, cane-like stems up to 80cm long. Each stem (pseudobulb) is covered with alternate, thin, leaf-bearing sheaths. Leaves dark green, are oval shaped, 5cm long. Flowering stems emerge from the upper nodes and tips of mature pseudobulbs and carry two to four, white, long-lasting flowers. Each flower is 7-10cm large, with white petals and sepals. The lip is white with bright green throat and contrasting dark maroon stripes.
